Authorizing Policy Context
Ohio passed law changes between 2009 and 2015 that, among other provisions, created new charter school closure mechanisms and a system for the evaluation of authorizers. Ohio had significant challenges with implementation at the state, authorizer, and school level over several years. New reforms passed in fall 2015 are an attempt to address these challenges.
