Authorizing and Special Education

Authorizing & Special Education

Upcoming Research Project

What role should authorizers play in overseeing charter school special education policies and practices?

In some states, charter schools enroll a higher percentage of kids with disabilities than district schools; in other states the opposite is true. Do authorizers think they should do something about that? What are authorizers doing when schools violate special education laws? NACSA’s annual survey of the nation’s authorizers will explore these and other questions on what authorizers are thinking about and doing with special education policies and practices.
