Seeking Candidates for Board of Directors

Seeking Candidates for Board of Directors

NACSA is currently seeking strong board candidates who can govern and steward NACSA to achieve its mission. Candidates must believe in the importance of creating new and innovative educational opportunities that are built from the aspirations and needs of communities, exemplary schools led by a more diverse group of leaders and centering the perspectives of students and families in authorizing and public education.

Additionally, we are currently prioritizing the following experiences and perspectives. Ideal candidates would:

  • Possess a deep knowledge and expertise in family and community engagement
  • Have significant experience working in a state education agency and/or school district
  • Help expand the racial/ethnic diversity of our board (especially candidates of color)
  • Help expand the political diversity of our board (center/right)
  • Help expand the geographic diversity of our board (especially in big charter states and the west – CA, TX, AZ)

Candidates may be nominated by others or may nominate themselves. Nominations, consisting of a short statement of interest that clearly articulates what skills and expertise the candidate would bring to the board—along with a current resume—can be shared via email (elisaw@qualitycharters.org).
