NACSA | Talent and Leadership in Charter School Authorizing | Leaders Program
The Leaders Program is a unique professional development program for leaders of authorizing offices.* Led by industry experts and limited to small cohorts of leaders, the rigorous and selective program will focus on leadership training and advanced authorizing.
From intensive in-person sessions to ongoing virtual dialogue, coaching and mentoring, participants will learn important new skills to advance their careers and build a national network of colleagues as they are challenged to make a positive difference in their own offices and throughout the charter sector.
* A small number of spots may be available for professionals who do not head the authorizing office but have significant and diverse responsibilities and the desire to eventually lead an authorizing office and for tenured leaders who demonstrate a desire to improve authorizing practices and learn from their peers.
Cohort members will engage in four in-person sessions, as well as online coursework and expert mentoring, to advance leadership skills and knowledge of the practices essential to becoming an excellent authorizer. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics with an emphasis on:
- Executive Leadership and Management;
- Performance Management; and
- High Stakes Decision Making
The program will culminate in a capstone project. Each participant will identify one functional area for improvement within his or her authorizing office, develop a work plan for addressing the improvement and execute the plan with the support of industry experts.
